Positions

Applications for Board Member positions open at the end of each academic semester for a few weeks in December and May. Undergraduate and graduate students of all majors are encouraged to apply. 

​

Positions are granted on a semester-long basis with opportunities to extend into year-long commitments based on performance. Availability on weeknights is strongly desired. 

Editorial Board

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review all writing submissions to help determine publication in the magazine.

  • Work one-on-one with contributors to edit accepted pieces. 

  • Draft feedback for rejections and resubmits.

  • Proofread each draft of the magazine.

  • Attend all board meetings. ​The Editorial Board meets between 4-6 weeks of the semester for 4 hours a week. Additional time will be required for preparation and independent review prior to each meeting. 

  • Assist in advertising and fundraising campaigns and attend publicity events.

  • Resume & cover letter

  • Two writing samples

  • Completion of provided proofreading and critiquing practices.

  • Interview

Art Board

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Review all art submissions to determine publication in the magazine.

  • Attend all board meetings and offer creative critiques. The Art Board meets 2-3 weeks per semester for at least 2 hours per week. Additional time will be required for preparation and independent review.

  • Draft feedback for rejections and resubmits. 

  • Assist in advertising and fundraising campaigns and attend publicity events.

  • Assist with marketing projects

  • Two art samples

  • Completion of provided art evaluation practices

  • Interview
