Jordan Sapp (she/her) 

is a senior creative writing major with minors in studio art and Honors. Jordan mainly works in fiction but enjoys experimenting with poetry every once in a while. If she’s not working on a new project, she’s probably looking at taxidermy listing on eBay. Check out her work on her website.

Tyler Edwards (he/him) 

is a sophomore computer science major who rekindled his love for reading and writing during the time inside. In his free time, he loves to do indoor rock climbing, play volleyball, practice cooking, and learn more about fashion. Tyler looks forward to joining Calliope and reading lots of diverse pieces of writing.

Ella Campbell (she/her) 

is a senior majoring in political science with minors in English and law, justice, and social control. She loves dogs, The X-Files, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Calliope, of course.

Publicity Manager

Aliza Shiah (she/her) 

is a senior at Chapman. She enjoys experimenting with photography and digital art and focuses on using creativity as a means of personal expression. Her interests include fashion, roller skating, surfing, and discovering new music. Aliza is very excited to be spending another semester with Calliope!

Design Manager

Alexandra Patrascu (she/her) 

is a designer, illustrator, and frequent dabbler in the art of words. In her final year at Chapman, she is pursuing a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in English. When she is not suffering from the woes of design, she can be found reading a copious amount of fantasy novels or drawing art of the various characters that haunt her mind. Sam Batt (he/him) 

is a third-year creative writing major and philosophy minor. He deals mostly in poetry and creative fiction, infrequently dabbling in nonfiction ventures. Outside of writing, he spends his time playing music, watching strange horror movies, or desperately searching for the album Run for the Roses by Jerry Garcia on vinyl. Sam is incredibly excited to be a part of the Calliope team and engage with Chapman's creative community.

Lauren Bramlett (she/her) 

 is a senior majoring in dance and English. She loves reading memoirs and going on runs which usually end up being walks. When she’s not dancing or writing, you’ll probably find her eating some form of potato while watching Gilmore Girls for the 8th time.

Bernadine Cortina (she/siya

is a junior studying English literature, Africana studies, and ethnic studies at Chapman. She’s a Pinay immigrant, daughter, and storyteller negotiating love, healing, belonging, and community after migratory shifts.

John Finnegan (they/them) 

is a junior English literature student. When not writing, John can be found woodworking, reading, or caring for their plants. They are excited to be with Calliope for another semester, and can’t wait to see what the future brings.

Kari Lien (they/them) 

is a junior double majoring in creative writing and communication studies. They are a Bay Area native and have an affinity for writing poems and short stories that lament the past. Other times, Kari can be found hosting their podcast Heavy Detail, watching too much film and television to possibly be healthy, or talking the nearest person's ear off about said media.

Emely Menjivar (she/her) 

is a junior creative writing major with an ethnic studies minor. She loves writing fiction and sharing cultural stories with friends. She can usually be found playing games, binging Criminal Minds, or learning to cook from her mom. Emely is excited about the chance to read and edit submissions to Calliope!

is a senior creative writing major with a minor in philosophy. You can usually find him reading comic books or working on his ever-in-progress scripts. He spends his free time watching basketball and playing video games.

Eliana Nava (she/her

is a sophomore English literature major with a minor in ethnic studies. She loves reading poetry collections, curating playlists, and visiting museums during her free time. If you are interested in the intersection of fruit as a love language and identity, then she can talk about it for hours—just summon her with the word “orange.”

Max Buka (he/him) 

is a junior studying business from Chicago, Illinois who loves every form of storytelling. He enjoys hearing what makes people tick and how their passions in life reflect on them as individuals. From writing to photography to film to theme park design, Max hopes to incorporate his passion for storytelling into his education—but is still figuring out how.

Ann Kamstra (she/her) 

is a sophomore animation/VFX student. She has a multitude of artistic hobbies including printmaking, painting, illustration, jewelry, and apparel design. She is thrilled to work with the other Calliope creatives this semester as well as meet new artists to collaborate with.

Luciana Paventy (she/her) 

Is a sophomore studying creative writing, Italian, and graphic design. She is often found with a chocolate bar in one hand, coffee in the other, and a book in her lap. Luciana enjoys all things creative and is thrilled to be joining Calliope.

Miriam Silkebakken (she/her) 

will be earning her BFA this semester in graphic design, with a minor in Japanese studies. She also has a passion for music and is fascinated with the intersection between music and visual art. In her free time, she enjoys digital illustration and collecting antiques and physical media.

Valerie Taber (any) 

is a SoCal native and a senior studying graphic design and French. Enjoys forgetting the current topic of conversation, illustration, and cheerleading other's creative endeavors with reckless abandon.
